For more than four decades, Stroud-Miller Insurance Service has been proud to serve families, individuals, and businesses throughout our region. What began as a small local insurance agency has grown into a team of experienced professionals dedicated to helping our customers protect what matters most.
Rooted in Our Community Since 1978
Our story began on May 1, 1978, when Miller General Insurance Service opened its doors in Wilkes County. In 1981, Stroud Insurance Agency was acquired and the agency became Stroud-Miller Insurance Service.
Over the years, we have continued to grow while remaining committed to the local communities we serve. In 1985, we acquired the White Insurance Agency in Taylorsville, an agency with roots dating back to the 1930s. In 1986, we welcomed the Highlander Agency in Boone, which had been serving the area since 1957.
Today, our Highlander office continues to serve customers in the High Country as a branch of Stroud-Miller. While our agency has grown and changed over the years, one thing has remained constant: our commitment to providing personal, dependable insurance service to our customers.

Our team brings decades of combined insurance experience and a commitment to continuing education. Several members of our staff hold professional insurance designations, including CIC, CPCU, and CISR.

A Tradition of Service
Stroud-Miller Insurance Service is owned and operated by Brady R. Miller, who began his insurance career in 1967 and holds both CIC and CPCU designations. Our Highlander branch is managed by Eric Miller, who brings more than 20 years of insurance experience to the agency.
From our beginnings in Wilkes County to our continued service in Wilkesboro and Boone, our focus has always been the same: take care of our customers, provide knowledgeable guidance, and be there when you need us.
